Former Senator Nick Wilson Back In State

Former state senator Nick Wilson of
Pocahontas, who was sent to federal prison in 2000 after his
conviction on corruption charges, is back in Arkansas.
Wilson was sentenced to nearly six years in prison after he was
convicted of tax evasion and conspiracy in 1999 and pleaded guilty
to a racketeering charge in 2000. He was accused in three schemes
to bilk money from state programs benefiting children and injured
school workers. He was also ordered to pay one-point-one- million dollars in fines and restitution.
He served 29 years in the state Senate.
Wilson served the bulk of his sentence at a federal prison in
Florida.
A federal official says Wilson is now living at a halfway house
somewhere in Arkansas operated by the federal Bureau of Prisons.
Regulations won`t allow the disclosure of the city where Wilson is.
Wilson`s wife, Susan, lives in Little Rock.
