Attorney General Warns Of Website That Charges Voters To Register

The operator of a Web site that charges
people nine dollars and 95 cents to register to vote says his
Internet business offers a service, much like tax preparation, for
consumers.
The Web site is drawing criticism from state officials since
voter registration is free.
Charles McGuire, owner of the w-w-w-dot--I want to vote--dot-com
site, says many people would rather someone else fill out the
paperwork.
Secretary of State Charlie Daniels said last week that the site
is unnecessary.
Attorney General Mike Beebe expressed concerns about possible
identity theft, since people using the site to register would be
providing personal information on the Web, as well as credit card
numbers to pay the site`s fees.
