Wesley Clark says his departure
from the Democratic presidential primaries is "not inevitable."
Clark is seeking votes in Tennessee and Virginia in advance of
tomorrow`s Democratic primaries. Massachusetts Senator John Kerry
is the front runner, with Clark, North Carolina Senator John
Edwards and former Vermont Governor Howard Dean all chasing Kerry.
Clark, who lives in Little Rock, is trying to show he can win in
the South.
Polls show Clark trailing in Tennessee and Virginia. He`s also
campaigning in Wisconsin in advance of a February 17th primary.
The latest distinction Clark was drawing with his rivals is on
taxes and toughness. He argues that his background as an Army
general makes him the Democrat who can withstand the inevitable
brutal assault from Republicans.
