A five-day strike by 800 Pulaski County School District employees might have ended Friday night--if the union and the school board could have come to an agreement.
The school board met with union members Friday evening, to hear their proposal.
That proposal would return strikers back to work on Monday, but with no job action taken against the employees by the district; if the board would re-certify the union, and the two sides would hold meetings for 30 days to resolve their issues, with Sen. Tracy Steele facilitating.
After some discussion the board did not accept the proposal, although a couple of motions were made to accept it with adjustments.
Union leaders say they`re holding more membership meetings tonight and in the morning to discuss their options and whether the strike will continue Monday.
