Taxpayers Footing The Bill For Capitol Costs

Eight weeks into the special session on education reform and the bill to taxpayers is soaring.
Each day of the special session costs $53,000. That adds up to a more than $2 million total.
Taxpayers like Vernia Williams say it just doesn`t add up. "In the situation I`m in... I`m behind on bills and they`re sitting up there with two million dollars. It has to get under your skin a little bit."
Lawmakers say they can understand the frustration and say they`re doing everything they can to wrap things up as soon as possible.
