Trial Delayed For State Representative

State Representative Johnnie Bolin has
secured a delay in his trial in the deaths of three people killed
in a traffic crash last year.
Bolin, who is from Crossett, was to have gone on trial Thursday
on three counts of negligent homicide. The charge is a Class A
misdemeanor.
Police said Bolin`s vehicle went off an icy Interstate 530 on
February 26th, 2003, slamming into three people in the median.
No trial date has been set by Circuit Judge H.A. Taylor. The
delay is the second for Bolin.
The Legislature is meeting in a special session that began
December eighth to address a court order to improve public
education.
Bolin is charged in the deaths of 23-year-old April Weeks of
Star City, and 25-year-old Shawn Albert Storz and 22-year-old
Angela Brooke Storz, both of Jefferson.
If convicted, Bolin could be sentenced to up to one year in
jail, fined up to $1,000 on each count.
