Governor Mike Huckabee today announced "My Community", a state wide initiative that will educate high school and college students about filmmaking as they create short documentaries about their communities. Sponsored by a broad coalition of state agencies, educational institutions and communities, My community will foster close collaboration between students and community leaders. The students wil shoot footage to create videos that highlight businesses, historic places and other points of interest in their hometowns. The local chambers of commerce will then be able to use the videos to promote business and tourism in their cities. More than 50 Arkansas cities have committed to the program.
