Two Jefferson County K-9s will hit the streets in their new bulletproof vests, thanks to some kindhearted teenagers. Students from the Watson Chapel High School donated $1,500 raised from candy sales. The money was then given to the Jefferson County Sheriff`s Office. Officials paid about $20,000 for K-9 deputies Arno and Kirov. Additional money wasn`t available to purchase the vests. The vests cost about $1,400 and had to be custom made to fit the dogs.
