Kingsland Voters Reject School Rebuilding Tax

Kingsland school leaders will have to look elsewhere for money to rebuild a high school after voters rejected a millage tax.
In May 2003, a fire destroyed the Kingsland High school, causing $2.6 million in damage. The city was hoping to pass a tax which would have paid for rebuilding costs not covered by insurance.
But residents overwhelmingly voted against the measure Tuesday night.
School Superintendent Sammy Hartwick tells KARK 4 News the board will meet Thursday night to discuss other options.
