Victims family wants answers from Governor

The family of William Hash wants to know why the Governor is considering letting Hash`s killer out of prison.
Don Jeffers was sentenced to life in prison for beating Hash to death in 1980. Recently the Governor made public his intent to grant clemency to Jeffers.
"We`re just beside ourselves with curiousity and bewilderment how the process is letting us down. We just want to know why," said Hash`s grandson Scott Whitfield.
It is the governor`s policy to not give explinations for granting clemency, since other prisoners could use the same line of reasoning.
However spokesperson Rex Nelson did say today that the Governor only considered the request after a unanimous vote from the post prison transfer board. Nelson also said the Governor`s decision is not final. He made his intentions known so he could begin accepting input from the public.
