El Dorado Man Killed In Plane Crash

Authorities say an El Dorado man was killed and another critically injured in a single-engine airplane crash near Norphlet. Thirty-nine-year-old Jonathan M. Hughes Junior of El Dorado, was killed in last night`s crash. The pilot, Glenn Thweatt of El Dorado was transported to the Medical Center of South Arkansas. A witness saw a plane that appeared to be in trouble around 6:30 p.m. and heard a crash after it dipped from view. Sheriff`s deputies found the downed plane in a pasture on property owned by the Los Angeles Lakers` player Karl Malone. No one on the ground was injured. The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
