Arkansas football coach Houston Nutt said today that he`s rejected Nebraska`s two million dollar offer to
coach the Cornhuskers.
At a news conference at the Broyles Center in Fayetteville, Nutt said strong family ties and a job left undone would not let him leave the Razorbacks. Nutt said he was flattered at Nebraska`s offer, but that it was best for him to remain at Arkansas.
He said quote -- "For six long years we`ve poured our heart into this program and we feel that our work isn`t finished."
Nebraska offered Nutt the job Friday, but Arkansas made a counteroffer.
Nutt said Arkansas was going to take care of him although some details were still being worked out.
Arkansas Athletic Director Frank Broyles called Nutt quote "the best man for the job anywhere in America" and that the Razorbacks` keeping him was reason for celebration.
