Before I get to the fishing report, Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week from 6AM to 1PM, the Big Bass Bonanza will be on the Arkansas River from Fort Smith to Dumas. Overall winner's gonna win $50,000, each pool -- there's five pools -- gonna win $10,000 so good luck, anglers. I'd be out there, but my wife had back surgery and without going into any details, I'd better be there with her.
Alright, let's go to the fishing report now.
Lake Conway by far is the hottest thing going. The bass fishing, brim fishing and crappie is on fire. Bass fishing, they're catching them with ten inch worms on the bank. Brim fishing, go out about ten feet, fish two foot down with crickets or wax worms -- a lot of BIG brim's being taken. And if you can believe this, the crappie's still on fire. Look for cypress trees with some green around it -- you're going to catch some with some minnows.
Lake Ouachita, the wall eye and the striper fishing is good right now.
Greers Ferry, Cody Smith with FishGreersFerry.com has got some Kentuckys and some small mouth located. You can catch them on jighead right now. Green pumpkin's working off the points.
Okay, the lure of the week right now is these Zoom Candy Bug Mad Two 9 1/2 inch worms. That's what they're catching them on up there at Lake Conway. Throw it with a four or five alt hook and you'll catch some bass up there.
Okay, last week I was telling you that Donna Deerman won the trip with me and Cody Smith at Greers Ferry. We had a great time out there. The wind was blowing; it was a little hard to fish but we caught a lot of fish. Donna, I enjoyed you and your husband coming up. I can't wait to see you on the lake again.
Okay, this is Big Sarge and I'll see ya next week.
