Arkansas Flu Death Toll Rises To 9

The state Health Department says flu-like illnesses are blamed in the deaths of nine Arkansans. The nine included one person below the age of 21. Health officials say all the victims were in high-risk groups. Doctor Sandra Snow, the medical director for communicable disease and immunizations, says influenza is causing a higher-than-normal number of cases. She urged vaccinations for everyone, even though the number of inoculations currently available in Arkansas is low. Posted by Mike Hellgren
