State Prisoner Charged With Killing Cellmate

A 21-year-old state prisoner serving a sentence for murder is charged in the slaying of another inmate. John Luckett faces a capital murder charge for the October 18th killing of 62-year-old Willie E- Campbell, who was housed at the Cummins Unit. Campbell died after his throat was slashed as he lay in his bunk in the two-man cell he shared with Luckett. Lincoln County Prosecutor Stevan Dalrymple says that Luckett`s arraignment is tentatively set for January seventh. Luckett currently is serving a 40-year sentence for a first-degree murder conviction and a 20-year sentence for aggravated robbery, both out of Phillips County.
