Flu Update

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Right now state-run county health departments have about three thousand available doses of the flu vaccine, but directors expect they`ll be out as of tomorrow. Chenal Family Practice always orders extra serum and usually has to destroy unused vaccine, but not this year. The last shot was given today at noon. With the Centers for Disease Control encouraging those with available vaccine to reserve it for high-risk children, St. Vincent`s Infirmary made a change. The hospital`s visting nurse corps usually vaccinates healthy adults during clinics held at businesses. Following the C-D-C`s announcement today the nurses cancelled upcoming clinics and dispersed more than 100 doses to places that focus on kids.
