The Christmas tree is in place at the state
Capitol.
The 20-foot cedar from Yell County was hauled inside this
morning. visitors will see the tree on the second-floor rotunda.
The tree will be decorated with 75 ornaments, one representing each
county. The ornaments were hand-painted by members of the Arkansas
Artists` Gallery in Little Rock.
The inside tree became a tradition after wartime blackouts
banned outdoor light displays in 1943.
