Arkansas` Republican Party Troubles

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Arkansas` Republican Party chairman is disbanding a committee formed to investigate the party`s money troubles. Reta Hamilton says she will instead name a new panel to look into the state G-O-P, which is reported to be more than three-hundred-thousand-dollars in the red. Marty Ryall quit as the state party chairman on October 22nd. And four other state GOP employees either quit or were let go to lower expenses. The party is negotiating with the Federal Election Commission over a fine relating to recent campaign violations uncovered in an F-E-C audit. The audit found the party overstated its receipts by nearly nine-hundred-thousand-dollars in 2000. Posted by Mike Hellgren
