Duck Hunting Season Gets Underway

Updated: January 7, 2009
Arkansans took to the hunting lodges Saturday in hopes of bagging ducks making their way from Canada. Saturday marked the opening day for duck season in the Natural State. Some Arkansans headed out as early as 6:00 a.m. to get an early start on their hunting. "There`s something special about opening day," says Scott Perry of McAlister Hunt Club. "You prepare for it months ahead of time." Scott hunted his daily limit of ducks within 45 minutes. Federal law limits each hunter to six ducks per day. Arkansas` duck hunting season wraps up January 25th. For more information on duck hunting, contact the Game and Fish Commission at (501) 223-6300.
