Updated: January 7, 2009
Pine Bluff`s Parks and Recreation is facing tough financial times despite operating on a $1.1 million budget. The department has fallen behind on several bills and is now the subject of an investigation alleging financial misuse. At issue, is the use of a city credit card for personal spending by Rickey Parks, the Park and Rec Director. "We formed a commission (Thursday) for that very purpose of looking into charge card first to make a determination of how they have been used," said Mac Norton, a Parks and Rec Commissioner. All five commissioners will meet on December 11th to discuss the findings of that investigation. Parks didn`t return repeated phone calls.
