Cold Cases Get Reheat in White County

They are the mysteries that have gone unsolved for years in White County. In the last year or so, Sheriff Pat Garrett has been re-investigating five cold cases in hopes of bringing them to a close. Starting back in 1987, Sandra Lynn Williams was found murdered on the bluffs Highway 31; a John Doe found dead under a bridge in 1989; in 1994, Marty Bradley was murdered; in two separate cases, Robin Farnsworth was 16 and Douglas Kirk was 35 when they both went missing in 1995; and Lloyd Lynn Williams has been missing since 1999. But since investigations have heated up again, Sheriff Garrett says he`s closer to solving a couple of them than he`s ever been. He says a case file from authorities in Arizona has been helpful in the Douglas Kirk case. "The Farnsworth case, evidence as come in the last six months, given me more people to talk to, physical evidence I can send to the crime lab for testing," Garrett said. Other cases, like the John Doe case, have been more troublesome. "No fingerprints match, the fingerprints off the body never turned up anything. There`s no dental records turning up anything," he said.
