Viagra, the drug famous for treating male
impotence, is now being used in hospitals nationwide to help babies
with high blood pressure around their lungs.
In Little Rock, a doctor at Arkansas Children`s Hospital has
been prescribing Viagra for children for months.
Doctor Jerril Green, who is treating a two-year-old boy with
Viagra, says the drug helps babies breathe better by enlarging
blood vessels around the lungs.
Green started using Viagra in children a few months ago, but he
says the drug has been used nationally for about a year.
Children receive a tiny dose compared to what an adult would
take.
