While the troops of the 39th Infantry Brigade are away at war, their families will be getting some help through Operation Safekeeping.
Lawyers offer free legal assistance for any family that might need it.
Five of the six officers who handle legal issues are leaving with the Brigade.
The Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association and the Arkansas Bar Association have agreed to help out if the load gets to heavy for the Judge Advocate General`s office.
"From time to time a family member may need someone to look at a legal contract to make sure it`s safe. There may be a dispute over a car repair or a home repair, that our JAG office can help that family member with," said Lt. Col. John C. Edwards, 39th Infantry Brigade JAG.
The lawyers will also assist with wills, power of attorney and child support.
Families who need support can call the family assistance center at their local armory.
