Updated: January 7, 2009
The 165 million dollar Nestle frozen food plant at Jonesboro already has 400 people working. Today, the plant will be dedicated by company officials and Governor Huckabee. The plant is producing Stouffer`s and Lean Cuisine frozen meals. Nestle announced the venture in July 2001, the largest capital investment ever undertaken by the company. Nestle has 50 billion dollars in annual sales. Testing on production lines at the plan started in March, and production began last month. The company expects to have one-thousand people working when production gets up to speed. Also at the site is Millard Refrigerated Services, which will employ 65 people.
