Saline County Teen Faces Capitol Murder Charges

15 year old William Powell appeared in a Saline County courtroom Monday. Prosecutors say he shot and killed 62 year old D-L Avaritt. Powell allegedly stole a rifle, went to Avaritt`s home and shot him two times. A Benton Police officer picked Powell up after the murder and - according to an affadavit- Powell confessed to a string of crimes- including Avaritt`s murder.
Powell was ordered to undergo a mental evaluation. He`s due back in court in late December.
