Two new baggage carousels are operating at
Little Rock National Airport as part of a remodeling project that
will improve the baggage section.
The pair of carousels are the first of five that are to be
installed during a three (m) million dollar renovation .
The renovation will include new floors, ceilings, lighting and
signs. The new carousels have twice the capacity of the current
baggage belts, which have been in use since 1972.
"The project has been phased to minimize any inconvenience to
our customers," a
Airport manager Deborah Schwartz says the project is being done
in phases to minimize inconvenience to travelers. It is scheduled
for completion by next spring.
