breaking news
Thirty-year old Angelique Shores was laid to rest this morning, three days after losing her life around the corner from where she taught.
Police say Shores was headed west on West Pleasure Friday afternoon when a car ran the stop sign at South Sowell and slammed into her. Shores` car hit a house and then flipped onto it`s top.
While Shores did not survive the wreck, her 5 year old daughter did....strapped into her car seat on the one part of the car that didn`t flatten.
According to officers, the 18-year-old- driver of the other car, Tristan Chatman, was behind the wheel of a Honda filled with alcohol. Since Chatman was injured during the wreck, officers were not able to give him a breathalizer test at the scene. A blood sample was taken from him at the hospital instead. That sample has been sent to the state health department for alcohol analysis.
