One of three men accused of capital murder in the 2001 slaying of a Minnesota man at the Nevada County Fair is on his way to prison. Nineteen-year-old Edwin Williams pleaded guilty to a reduced murder charge and robbery in the 2002 killing of 62-year-old Harold Reed. He was sentenced to serve 35 years in prison. Reed was operator of a ride at the county fair when he was killed near the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Court records say Reed was lured from the fairgrounds with a promise of obtaining alcoholic beverages. According to those records, a robbery attempt resulted in a struggle during which Reed was shot. Also charged with capital murder are twin brothers Recordo Walker and Rodney Walker, both 21. Dana Knox is charged with hindering prosecution. All three await trial. Posted by Mike Hellgren
