Updated: January 7, 2009
A nine-year-old boy taken from Cross County by his non-custodial father has been returned safely. Cross County Sheriff Ronnie Baldwin said early this afternoon that he was busy interviewing the boy and couldn`t yet release more information. Police say the father Michael Yarbro drove his son, Troy, to Virginia over the weekend in an older model Chevrolet Cavalier. It`s not yet clear how the boy was returned to Arkansas. Arkansas State Police issued a level two Morgan Nick Alert Monday morning. The alert included information that Yarbro had a history of physical abuse, but a state police spokesman said that information was released by mistake. Yarbro does NOT have a criminal record of abuse. The boy had last been seen in Arkansas on Friday.
