A few more people are coming to the Arkansas State Fair so far this year. Fair general manager Jim Pledger says today that attendance is up slightly through opening weekend, judging by the latest numbers available. The fair offers everything from fried Oreo cookies to cattle judging competitions to stomach-turning rides and a rodeo. The fair opened in Little Rock on Friday and runs through this Sunday. Attendance Friday was 41,068; Saturday was 51,019 and Sunday brought in 47,614. Pledger says the three-day total of 139,701 was up about 2,600 people from last year`s opening weekend. Even the weather this year is holding up all right. Pledger says the fairgrounds have NOT had significant rain since the fair opened.
