Updated: January 7, 2009
Children of all ages turned out in droves to see animals usually found in remote parts of the world. The Exotic Petting Zoo put camels, ostiches and zebras on display for animals lovers to feed and touch. Pot-bellied pigs, donkeys, goats and Cavies, a type of guinea pig, were also featured. A new addition joined the ground. Last Saturday, one of the cavies gave birth, marking the first animal birth in the fair`s history. Organizers named the baby cavy "Rock," in honor of the Capital City.
