Clark Heritage Unlikly To Sway Any Voters

Several political scientists say retired Army General Wesley Clark`s ties to Judaism will likely have little impact on voters -- unless those voters they are particularly concerned about a president showing favoritism to Israel in its conflicts. Clark found out while he was studying in England as a young man that he was of Jewish descent. His birth father, Kanne (KAY`-nee), is derived from the Hebrew name "Kohen." Clark hasn`t made anything special of his Jewish background. He`s now Catholic, having converted to that faith from being a Baptist. Political experts also say it`s important that Clark doesn`t appear to be pandering to Jewish voters with his heritage.
