Attorney General`s Office Solving Complaints

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Attorney General Mike Beebe says a state division that handles consumer complaints has collected more than one million dollars so far this year. This marks the first time his office`s Public Protection Division has retrieved more than one million for consumers. Beebe says consumers filed more than 44-hundred complaints with the Public Protection Division in 2003, and investigators have resolved and closed more than half of them. The one million dollar figure covers cases resolved outside of court, saving the costs and times of lawsuits. The previous record was last year, when 775-thousand dollars was collected.
