State Making Less Money

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
State tax collections dipped below forecast in September, the first time in four months that revenues fell short of projections. Collections totaling 383.3 million dollars in September reflected a nearly 19 million dollar increase over a year ago. But they were 1.6 million dollars below forecast. Spurring the slight decline were individual income tax collections, down just under one percent from last year and four-point-nine percent below forecast. Individual income taxes were two-point-eight percent above forecast in August. Since the new fiscal year began July First, gross general revenues total 1.017 billion dollars. That`s 48.9 million dollars, or five percent, above collections a year ago. Revenue is 1.4 million dollars above forecast.
