Country singing legend and Arkansas native
Johnny Cash is being remembered in Washington.
Congressman Mike Ross of Arkansas cosponsored legislation
honoring the singer. Cash was born in Kingsland in 1932, and grew
up in Dyess, Arkansas. The House passed the bill unanimously
yesterday.
The 71-year-old Cash died September 12th of respiratory failure
caused by complications from diabetes. A private funeral was held
September 15th near his home in Hendersonville, Tennessee, just
north of Nashville.
Ross says Cash`s work crossed over many types of music and
appealed to many generations.
