Former Governor Sid McMath is scheduled to be released from the hospital in time to attend signing parties for his new book this weekend. That`s what his son says today. McMath has been hospitalized for weeks for treatment of an irregular heartbeat. The 91-year-old is to be released from Baptist Rehab in Little Rock tomorrow. His son, Phillip McMath, a Little Rock lawyer, says he doesn`t know whether his father will be strong enough to actually sign copies of his recently released autobiography, "Promises Kept." Sid McMath was governor from 1949 to 1953 after serving as a crusading Garland County prosecutor. The decorated World War Two hero has kept a law practice since leaving the governor`s office.
