School Looks Into Alleged Fondling

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
North Little Rock school officials are investigating an alleged fondling incident on a school bus. Bus driver William Merritt says several high school girls complained they were being fondled by boys on the bus, but fearing for their safety, wouldn`t tell anyone else. Merritt says he reported the incident to school authorities and the district installed a video camera on his bus Tuesday -- hoping to record the activity. Superintendent James Smith tells News 4 Arkansas, "We will not tolerate it, but we`re going to have to identify the person and we need the help of that driver in doing that." Smith urges those affected to come forward and says the school will make sure they`re protected. Story filed by: Lyndall Stout
