Wesley Clark`s presidential campaign has a
new communications director.
Kym Spell is going to work for the retired general from Little
Rock after leaving a job working as New Hampshire spokeswoman for
another Democratic presidential candidate, John Kerry.
Kerry, a Massachusetts senator, and former Vermont Governor
Howard Dean were battling for control in New Hampshire, a neighbor
for both. But a nationwide Newsweek poll released today shows Clark
jumped ahead of both of those rivals to lead the race of 10
Democrats.
Spell served as deputy communications director for former Vice
President Al Gore`s 2000 presidential campaign. She replaces Mary
Jacoby as Clark`s official spokeswoman.
Jacoby served as press secretary in the campaign`s first week
and will continue to coordinate the media in Little Rock.
