Preacher Suing after Banned for Alleged Brawl

A Lead Hill preacher filed a lawsuit against a senior citizens center that banned him after he allegedly took part
in brawls, threatened residents and took extra doughnuts and ice cream topping.
A judge conducted a hearing and is preparing a ruling on the suit brought by 73-year-old Arthur Barnes. He claims in his lawsuit his rights as a taxpayer were violated and wants access to the
center. Center employees allege Barnes took part in pool room brawls and
challenged elderly men to step outside and fight. Barnes is the pastor of the Kissee Community Church near Monarch. He testified last week that center director Diane Billings verbally abused him. He says he was singled out for losing dominoes, leaving billiard balls on top of the pool table, eating
an extra doughnut and other breaches of etiquette.
