Former Army General Wesley Clark revealed
his decision to run for president several hours before a planned
announcement Wednesday. He said in a webcast for volunteers that he
would enter the Democratic primaries.
Clark said "I`m going to announce this morning that
I`ve accepted your draft, that I will seek to become the next
president of the United States."
Clark also said while being interviewed for NBC`s "Today
Show" that he would run.
Clark scheduled an announcement at noon at a Little Rock boys
and girls club. Advisers said Tuesday Clark had told them he
would enter the race to challenge President Bush.

The Little Rock-based group Draft Clark for President 2004
posted the webcast. Clark thanked volunteers who worked to build an
organization for his campaign and told them he will need their
further efforts.
Clark said "We need to raise a shout across this
land, we need to make a difference in American history."
