Wesley Clark isn`t saying yet whether he`ll
enter the presidential race. But he had a big smile on his face
when he drove away from a meeting at his Little Rock office this
morning. Sources tell The Associated Press that the retired Army
general is in.
Clark met with campaign officials early this morning at his
small headquarters building overlooking the Arkansas River near the
complex housing Clinton`s presidential archives.
As Clark left, he exchanged pleasantries about Arkansas but made
no comment on his decision.
Within minutes, one person at the meeting -- Skip Rutherford --
said he would play a role in Clark`s campaign. Rutherford is a
close confidant of former President Clinton and the head of the
foundation that is building Clinton`s presidential library.
Clark is jumping into the race for the Democratic nomination
just four months before the voting begins. That means he has to
move fast to raise money and put a staff in place.
