Youth Hold Non-Violence Rally

By: Nichelle Sullivan
Updated: June 1, 2011
While many high school students are looking forward to college many others are just trying to get by in school, especially with school bullying on the rise.

The Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission hosted its 4th Annual "Nonviolence Youth Summit" at the state capitol Monday.

Local students gathered for a day of workshops and presentations to empower them to stand up against bullying.

Arkansas recently passed a bill requiring anti-bullying policies that take Facebook and other electronic forums into consideration.

Correction: The event was held on Tuesday and not "Monday". Moreover, it was the fourth one of series of Nonviolence Youth Summits held since January 2010 and not the "4th Annual".
