United States Attorney Bud Cummins is expected to release more information Thursday about the federal investigation into possible violations of the Animal Welfare Act. Federal agents recently raided the kennel owned by C.C. Baird -- a long-time dog dealer in Sharp County. Sources tell News 4 Arkansas that agents seized more than 100 animals and took them to Barton Coliseum for safe keeping. A California animal rights group says its been investigating Baird for 15 years, even offering pictures as proof of the animals` conditions. C.C. Baird refused to comment on the investigation. So far, prosecutors have not charged him in the case. Story filed by: Lyndall Stout
