Counterfeit Cash Flows into Hot Springs

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
In the last few months, more than twenty Hot Springs businesses have fallen victim to fake bills. Hot Springs Police say the bills come in $20, $50 and $100 denominations. Investigators fear the problem could grow worse this weekend. They say counterfeiters target times when vendors are busy and attention spans are low. A new $20 bill will be released by the U.S. Treasury Department this fall. It`s expected to cut down on the problem of counterfeiting by including more background colors and metallic designs.
