Pryor Plans to Help Bath House Row

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Restoring at least one bath house on the row could be in the works. Senator Mark Pryor met with Hot Springs city leaders Friday to discuss their plans for rescuing Bath House row. Pryor says he hopes to start with Quapaw Bath House, and eventually move onto the others. "Mike Ross, Blanche Lincoln are hoping to get federal dollars, $2 million into this bath house right now. The beauty of that approach is once we lease it and all, the taxpayers can get their money back out of it," said Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Arkansas. Pryor says his goal is to have the buildings become operational for other businesses like musuems or restaurants, but not necessarily to operate as bath houses.
