Jefferson County Reserve Deputy Charged In Gambling Ring Investigation

A reserve deputy for the Jefferson County Sheriff`s Department has been charged with a misdemeanor in a gambling investigation that earlier led to a charge against Sheriff Boe Fontaine. Dane Reed of Pine Bluff surrendered yesterday to authorities and was released on his own recognizance. Reed and Fontaine were accused of allowing a gambling house to operate. Fontaine was arrested June 26th. Pulaski County Deputy Prosecutor W-A McCormick was appointed special prosecutor to the case. He filed the original charge against Fontaine, as well as the new charge against Reed.
