breaking news
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is the latest state school coping with growing pains.
Construction is underway on two new dormitories, but those won`t be finished in time for the start of the fall semester.
That means at least 400 UAPB students have to spend a few months living off campus, in local motels.
Willie Gilmore, UAPB`s Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, tells News 4 Arkansas, "We`re delighted in a particular sense to be in this spot, because it does speak to the growth of our enrollment and we`re looking forward to providing housing to every student on campus who wants to be on campus this fall."
Classes begin Aug. 25.
The new women`s dorm is set to open in October. The men`s dorm opens in November.
