Pine Bluff Officer Arrested for Sexual Assault

Pine Bluff`s Police Chief says he`s shocked by the arrest of one of his decorated officers on sexual assault charges. Detectives arrested 36-year-old Robert Bergstrom this weeked -- a six-year veteran of the department. The chief quickly fired Bergstrom and issued a public apology on Monday. Cheif Danny Moses tells News 4 Arkansas, "I think everyone`s aware it`s a blemish on the department, but take into consideration it was the act of one individual" he says. "It was his choice." Investigators are releasing little about the case, only saying that the victim is a juvenile and someone Officer Bergstrom has known for the past two years. Bergstrom is being held at the Jefferson County Dentention Center on $10,000 bond. Story filed by: Lyndall Stout
