Conway Plant Offers Employees TB Tests

The facility manager at the Kimberly-Clark plant in Conway says Thursday that it`s offering tuberculosis tests to its 500 employees.
Manager Tim Painter says the company decided to pay for the tests after one of its workers came down with an active case of the disease on Monday.
The manager says the tests are precautionary and that he`s trying to calm people`s fears and answer their questions.
The tests started at the mill on Tuesday, and Painter says they should be completed by early next week. The skin test has a 48-hour incubation period.
The manager says he doesn`t know of anybody else who is sick and that he`s trying to keep employees informed. Tuberculosis is an infection of the lungs characterized by coughing, fever, weight loss and chest pain.
