The ASL announced the $20 ticket as appealing to players who can afford to pay a little more to gain better odds and the chance of a big payout. In this case, the payout was quick and huge.

“The Arkansas Lottery Commission is delighted for this Arkansas player,” said Commission Chair Dianne Lamberth of Batesville. “I personally enjoy having a big winner in a neighboring county!” She emphasized the it is the ALC’s job to maximize scholarships for Arkansas students, and said, “we also are glad to see players winning, extra funding for Arkansas’s state government, and more profits for our retailers.”
